BACAKORAN.CO - Unrest in Jakarta and nearby areas took a shocking turn when the private house of Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in Bintaro, South Tangerang, was looted early Sunday morning.

According to local residents, a group of people came around 2:00 a.m. and forced their way into the minister’s home.

They reportedly took several valuable items, but so far there has been no official statement about the exact losses or details of what happened.

Videos spreading on TikTok and Instagram showed dozens of people entering the house, damaging furniture, and carrying things out.

In one clip, a man proudly said, “Great looting tonight,” while showing what he had taken.

Another video showed people moving a big black sofa bed. One person even claimed he got jewelry and showed it off before leaving on a motorcycle.

The looting itself shocked many, but what made netizens even more suspicious was the lack of visible security at the minister’s home.

“It’s strange. How could there be no guards at all?” wrote one Instagram user. Another commented, “This doesn’t look like a normal mob. Their outfits are too neat. Feels like they were ordered.”

These kinds of comments spread quickly, with many netizens saying the situation “felt off” and might not be just random looting.

The unrest started after a video went viral, which appeared to show Sri Mulyani calling teachers a burden to the state.
